Today's scribbler is Helena Perez Garcia. Did you notice the pencil-drawn wrist and fingers (below) peeking out from her kimono? AHH that detail alone makes me smitten with Helena! Side-note: isn't is funny how some artists match their name perfectly as if they were blessed at birth with a certain drawing style? Like, I SHALL NAME HER HELENA GARCIA AND SHE SHALL ILLUSTRATE ACCORDINGLY. Can you imagine if Helena's parents had named her Kermit Nervada? Actually that's a pretty sweet name! Bags that for my future first-born!

Today's scribbler is Elia Fernández from Spain! This lady does such nice things with a pencil and brush. If Nicki Minaj were here she'd probably say YOU GOT DA X-FATOR ELIA BABY! then drop a bunch of synonyms for "great" and maybe even wipe away a lone tear from her cheek as the camera pans in for a close-up. Oh, if only I could give this paragraph the inspiring slow-motion montage and Ryan Seacrest voiceover it deserves! Instead I'll just shush and let you enjoy Elia's handiwork. Then follow her on FB!

Barefoot Is Happiness

OMG I FOUND MY NEW BEST FRIEND. Today's scribbler is Martutxa Casares and I think we might be kindred spirits. She has an egg head (me too) and she likes to be a barefoot bandit, as do I. Yehhh two shared details! We must be twins, right? Or maybe I've just spent too many hours alone on the internet this weekend (likely) and need a friendly high-five. Either way, Martutxa seems like a sweet lady! Friends fo'evz?

Bird Music!

Today's scribbler is Inma Lorente from Barcelona and I love her. Is that too forward? Well, hey, yeah I think she's like, kind of alright. No but really.... LOVE HER. If someone asked me right now to define the drawing style that really rocks my boat I'd point them in the direction of Inma. Among others! Yeah, of course I have many other art crushes (play it cool, Lisa, play it cool) but Inma's neat mix of scratchy pencil lines and playful design gets me every time. Every! Single! Time!

Shits And Giggles

Today's scribbler is Laura Castelló from Spain. My heart will always go for handmade over digital, but Laura blends the two nicely with sketchy marks and puddles of colour. She holds onto that rough cut-and-pastey feel. And hey, look (below) it's Bill Murray! That's reason enough to put a Bill Murray quote at the end of this paragraph, right?

Making Up Stories

Today's scribbler is Cinta Arribas from Spain. In her online world she mostly speaks Spanish, so everything I know about her I learnt from the scribble interview (above) she doodled for us! I could have used Google translate but sometimes it's nice to find a blog in a foreign language and soak up the mystery of it. It's like being a tiny-tot again, not able to understand the words but, who cares. We let the pictures tell their story or just make up our own!
