The Art Of Getting Started

It is so sticky-hot in Melbourne right now that I'm wearing a bag of frozen peas as a tiny shawl because my bedroom is a hot box and - get this! - all the fans in the city have sold out. Madness. TOTAL MADNESS. CHAOS. SWEATY CHAOS! SALTY MADNESS! My thighs are much too slippery to be writing blog posts in this sans-fan bedroom but whatever, I have an interview with my sweet and clever pal Lee Crutchley to share with you today. His new book The Art Of Getting Started is more desirable than a onesie made of ice packs. Did she really just say that? Totally. Admittedly it doesn't lower your body temperature but it does offer playful ways to get unstuck and loosen up your creativity. Today's scribbler is Famous When Dead and honestly? I'm not sure what to write for this one. Not because I don't like it because GOSH DAMN I DO... but my eyeballs are tripping out! If my eyeballs had little hands (stick with me here) then those eyeball-hands would be touching my brain all over the face in a very distracting way right now. Like, WOAAAH BABE LOOK AT THAT. You know what I'm saying? Sure you do. And now (if you don't mind) one of MY eyeball-hands is grabbing one of YOUR eyeball-hands so they can skip off into the sunset together. Bye guys! Have fun! Be home before dinner! Mama loves you!

Lush Garden

Today's scribbler is Eleanor Taylor. As you can see from the lush scribble garden she drew us (above), this lady got skillzzz! Or alternatively, she has skills. Either way I can barely pick a favourite illustration, so I recommend you visit Eleanor's website to see them all. And when I say "recommend" I mean it in the same way that an unshaven character played by Bruce Willis might "recommend" you keep your stinkin' hands away from his precious daughter before a series of events (and glorious one-liners) make him admit (reluctantly) that you're actually a good kid, or whatever.

Smiling Over You

Today's scribbler is Alan Heighton! He's a bike-liking, tea-sipping illustrator based in England. His doodlings are half sweet, half cheeky. That's a good mix in my opinion! Like a double scoop of ice-cream in a waffle cone! Cheeky rum & raisin at the bottom and sweet strawberry sorbet on top. Yummmnkjfnkjenew!
